Tools/Parts Needed
Cup of Boiling Water
Pliers
Cutters (end cuters are best)
Cloth
Mist Style jets from Xsara or various other models (really cheap from Dealer)
The Method
This is original spay pattern:
And the original washer jet:
First job, if you've been really tight & got them from the breakers, boil the kettle, pour the hot water into a cup & drop the mist style jets in:
While they soften up, open the bonnet & locate the washer piping leading to the base of each jet.
A short sharp tug (on the pipe) should pop the pipe off:
Next you need to squeeze in the four little tabs as seen in the pervious picture while gently pushing the jet through the bonnet. If you can't be arsed (like me) grab some cutters (end cut style is best) & cut the jet in half as close to the underside of the bonnet as you can. Be very careful not to crease or dent your bonnet.
The remaining part of the jet should now just drop out of the hole:
Now's the time to grab a cloth & give the bonnet a quick clean around the washerjet holes.
If your brave, rescue the new jets out of the boiling water with your bare hands, if not use a mates. Pull the now soft washer pipes off. If the pipes are still pretty hard pop them back in & leave a while longer.
Once off, just clip the new mist jets into the bonnet holes.
Dip the end of each washer pipe in the cup of water (which should still be hot enough) to soften the ends & push on (you may need to hold the jet from the other side to stop pushing it out again)
You should finish up looking like this:
And you all done.
Heres the new washer jet:
And the new spray pattern, has you can see, they throw alot more water onto the screen:
